The Forerunners
Gaye and Sue arrived a few days ago as the forerunners and have been exploring SE Uganda. We were met at the airport by our lovely driver Fran and then headed to Lake Nabugabo via the Equator for a restful first night.
In the beginning
The roots of our visit to Uganda extend back over more than 50 years of friendship. These deep links mean that when we arrive we will be welcomed with joy and excitement. We know that the friendships started on these visits often last for many years. We are a group of 19 travellers of all ages drawn from 5 churches in Bristol. Our timetable includes visits to friends in Kampala, the Dioceses of Luwero (briefly), Nebbi, Northern Uganda and Kitgum. Along the way we will be welcomed into homes and families. It is a precious gift to be invited to share someone else's life for a while. We'll be given insights into health, education, development and church life in a very different culture. As a bonus we also get to visit some amazing landscapes, birds and animals in national parks. We look forward to sharing it on this blog.
