Day 1 for most!

Day 1!
Some started their journey yesterday, by travelling down and staying in a hotel overnight.

Others got up at 1am and got a coach, whilst others drove. We had to make a gromit stop!

We were all slightly bleary-eyed as we arrived to Heathrow, but excitement fizzled in the air as we joined the ever growing bag drop queue. What should have been a simple task took over 40 mins! It seemed that there couldn't be more than 2 people looking after the desks! Everyone seemed to have at least 6 suitcases each! 🧳

After getting herded into a different queue, we finally dropped our bags and made our way to security. Most were swiftly through security, but some got stopped and shampoo was tested. Janet's Bible also seemed to be suspicious! πŸ“–πŸ§΄
We took these pictures going down an escalator, and Lauren almost dropped her phone all the way down! πŸ˜…

We boarded the first plane to Brussels. It was very quick! We landed around 9.15 Brussels time. A super speedy dash through Brussels airport, and we boarded the second plane to Entebbe. This was a very long flight and you could see boredom stretched across people's faces! ✈️ (This photo was taken at the start of the flight to Brussels where we were very excited)
Onboard, many enjoyed a selection of movies and games. We had a very interesting sung safety announcement which we jammed along to! 🎢

We had some in-flight food, which included pasta or chicken, cheese a roll and a COCONUT pastry.... Yes Elliot. We also had a pizza and tried some banana juice πŸ˜‹

At around 19.20 we arrived in Rwanda. However little did we know we would have a long night ahead of us! The planes hydraulics had broken so we were grounded in Rwanda. No one was really sure what was going on! We stayed on the plane for a while, then got herded out to the departure lounge where we went through security as we were told there was a connecting flight. However we discovered that it was full! We then went the whole way through the airport, reclaimed our luggage which miraculously made it! We then were told we would get a bus to a hotel. However there wasn't... We were put in a tent, where there was an event. Everyone tried to fall asleep and we made a nest on the floor. People were asleep on their suitcases. We were all exhausted!
We stayed in a hotel overnight, and will put some more photos later!
