Day 3... experiencing a new culture

WE'RE FINALLY IN UGANDA!! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬

2nd August blog!

After a very disturbed night of sleep, we woke up in the beautiful Secrets Guesthouse, surrounded by the sounds of birds singing and green leaves everywhere.

We had a delicious breakfast. Yesterday we met our lovely drivers, who loaded up the vans and we set off through Uganda. Two vans set off, and the other will wait for Janet and Lauren.

As we drove through Kampala, there were new sights, sounds and smells for everyone to discover. It is very busy, and there are Boda Bodas everywhere (like motorbikes) many people stack all sorts of things in these and the record for how many people we've seen on one has been 6!! People put tables and bed frames on their bikes and often have someone else sat on the back! 🚲
There are lots of animals including cows, goats and chickens! πŸ„πŸπŸ”

We had a dance in the petrol station because there was a DJ! πŸ’ƒ

We stopped and exchanged our money, which felt very surreal (and slightly dodgy!)

We stopped for lunch at a roadside cafe and had a variety of meals.
Nate formed an emotional attachment to toothpicks....
We stopped at the Nile and took some amazing pictures. The water was so powerful, and it was so beautiful!
On the way we saw some baboons! πŸ’
We finally reached a hotel called Church hill and turned in for the night.
Stay rooted πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬
